Texas spent billions, arrested thousands of trespassers, and turned Eagle Pass from a crossing hot spot into a controlled sector. Other border states should follow the model instead of waiting for a federal government that profits from paralysis.

Voters elected a president who promised mass deportation and a sealed border, but two years later illegal crossings remain high because federal courts, sanctuary cities, and career bureaucrats keep obstructing the enforcement they were sworn to carry out.

The southwest border is quieter today because state and federal enforcement finally came before amnesty negotiations, not because Washington fixed the law. Mass deportations, wall construction, and National Guard deployments have done what years of hearings could not.
